Been a while since I had a spoiler!

So in ANGEL 17 Gunn was in a coma, badly beaten, possibly dying.
But in ANGEL 18, he's up and about and driving and has Illyria riding shotgun.

How did this happen? Well, here are Franco's pencils and inks for the cover of issue 23, which will shed a little light:

Faithful readers can probably tell just who is standing over Gunn. And yes, that person (?) does in fact have a hand in his speedy recovery. But I can tell you that physical healing is only the tip of the iceberg in this issue. This one is packed with big shake-ups. We see a couple of reunions, some fun cameos, characters charting new journeys, and Franco and I tell a little tale that serves as a wonderful capper to the AFTER THE FALL storyline. In fact, if ATF is ever collected in one volume, I hope this is the last chapter in the book.

Hope you enjoy the sneak peek!

Okay. I'm totally intrigued now. I wonder what the evil Pixie has in mind...

Can't wait for this one. Gunn was by far the best Buffyverse villain since Angelus in Buffy, and seeing him cope with what he did is going to be fantastic.

Oh, and thank you good sir for putting my blog in your links. Can't wait to review another Brian Lynch comic.

So excited for this. :)
Thanks for the update, Brian!

Wow, that looks really interesting :D I totally can't wait for that issue!
And I hated issue 18… It was horrible, both story and art. I really wanted to see Kate back, because I’ve always loved her, but she didn’t sound like herself and definitely didn’t look like herself. Nor did any of the other characters.
I loved Kate in First Night, I hope you will get back to her someday. :)

Well hate is such a harsh word to describe someones's work, it was okay but....come back Brian, just come back it's not the same without you. It's like we had X-men 1 & 2 then...X-men 3 and we all know how that went

I didn't realize the last issue was a fill-in -- I thought you were done with the book. I will un-cancel my subscription, because the fill-in sucked.

I'm only writing issue 23 of ANGEL, and co-writing 24 and 25 with Juliet Landau. That said, give issue 19 a try, you may dig the direction Kelley goes in.

I liked issue 18. Aftermath has a little different tone and style then After The Fall so if you read it thinking it's going to be the same you're going to be disappointed. I think people should give it a shot.

Wow, the hate for 18? Don't let Kelley take it personally, i think they're all just fans of yours Brian. I didn't pay attention and it slipped past me that you didn't write it, and I couldn't tell the difference. It felt the same. Now comes the problem of you thinking "F that! I'm WAY better than her you jerk!" Love the series and am so excited to see what your team has in store for us!

I like Aftermath! Can't for the rest of Kelley's issues! After the Fall was the best thing i've read in ages I must say. Full of substance and sentiment.

I hope Illyria makes Non pretty much what she is A NON-ISSUE. yeah i know someone made that joke already but Non was a bit overated, without humans to eat anyway.

Can't wait for more progressing Angel stories YAY!

ok, dude...After The Fall was/is a freakin' work of ART. The progression of characters is phenomenal (and I'm completly baffled by the Buffy Season 8 series in contrast; it's very goofy). Waiting for Gunn's aftermath story, waiting to see where Spike and Illyria are, and Spider's probable demise. Perhaps we can explore the ether where the soul of Wesley has been dumped by W&H, along with Lilah and Lindsey...
