Cool & Collected!

Hey, grabbed a few pictures of the ANGEL:AFTER THE FALL volume 1 hardcover. Sorry for the quality, they're a bit grainy.

The cover, by Alex Garner. Angel and the Dragon are embossed and shiny, and the lettering is all shiny red. Pretty damn stunning.

The inside front cover. See the red cloth bookmark in there, too? Classy!

Title page. Bottom corner glow sold separately.

One of the chapter title pages. How cool is that? Also, a page from chapter three. Sorry for the spoilers if you haven't read the book, but yes, Angel does get thrown through a window.

Franco's original character sketches. There are a bunch. Also included is the original treatment for the first 5 issues.

Back of the book. And finally...

The spine. Also shiny.

It's pretty amazing, huh? And I gotta say, I have read the comics a lot, but reading them in this format, as one big story, it's a whole new experience. Plus Franco's art has never looked better, everything got the royal treatment.

Back to work for me. Later guys!

Looks great.
Question. On your old blog did you see the comment about Buffy being basically "undead". Are people this wacky on purpose or is there a school for it?
Keep up the good work!! And thanks.

Damn, Brian, that's beautiful. I try to resist collections of comics if I already bought the issues, but you just sold yourself a harcover. My girlfriend and I just finished watching the Angel DVDs (she'd never seen it), and I think she's ready to make the jump to After the Fall. This should make her decision a little easier!

Very, very nice. IDW did a wonderful job with this. I'm so excited to get it and am really looking forward to future collections as well!

Initially I wasn't sure if I was gonna get it since I have all the individual issues (usually I only buy collections if I don't have the issues) but I'm really tempted to pick this up. Looks like IDW is treatin our other favorite dark knight great.

I like the fact that there is a big number 1 on the spine. More hardcovers to come.

That is beautiful! I can't wait to get my hands on it since I never had a chance to pick up issues 3-5.

Wow. I heard that the book was pretty, but this is amazing. Props for whichever graphic-artist that put it together.

I wonder what this sentence means;
"original treatment for the first 5 issues."

Original treatment?
