I haven't seen the movie yet but I've read Twilight and it's pretty good, but some things just get me really annoyed, maybe because I'm so devoted to the Buffyverse.
It is in no way as amazing as Buffy or Angel: the vampires don't have fangs! How can you have a vampire without fangs - it's outrageous! And they glitter like disco balls in the sunlight-wtf! AND they can't be killed unless they are ripped to pieces and burned by another vamp - what good is that? At least the Buffyverse vamps have physical vulnerability as well!
I also preferred Joss Whedon's underlying metaphors etc.. in both shows. Bella in Twilight seemed whiny and a bit superficial to me - she didn't seem to understand the implications of living forever as opposed to Angel whose ultimate desire is to be human, including the mortality part.
Stephenie Meyer also doesn't create a world full of demons etc... like Joss did; vampires and werewolves just seem to be anomalies in an otherwise human world. There's also no explanation for their existance either!
*takes deep breaths*
I've already had this rant on another blog but it seemed relevant. I'm a girl who tends to get really riled up about this ort of stuff!

Interesting. So in terms of aesthetic judgement, you are like a seven-layer dip?
Also, from what I've heard, Twilight is like Buffy without all that annoying feminism.
I heard it was like Buffy without all that annoying "good" and "worth watching".
I heard the vampires in this move don't catch on fire in sunlight, but rather simply get all glittery. What's up with that?
Teenage girls like glitter?
I enjoyed it, but I thought it could have been way better then it was...
with = without ?!
Oops, yes, that's what I meant.

A Whedonverse member gave a shout out to a Buffy movie in relation to how good Twilight did at the box office.
Haven't seen Twilight yet but I'm going to.

I read a good joke about the Twilight vamps:
Q: When is a vampire not a vampire? A: When it goes out in daylight, sees itself in a mirror, doesn’t drink human blood, and still manages to suck.

Just returned home from watching Twilight. I enjoyed it but it really isn't anywhere as good as Buffy or B/A. Did enjoy it though.
