But that's the point though isn't it? The characters would lose their quirkiness because boxoffice minded hollywood would water them down and make them "normal" (Cause vampires and dragons are normal...) And I use normal as a derogatory term yes. :-)

The dude with the piece looks a bit like Horatio Sanz, formerly of SNL. Now that would be funny. :P
I'd guess this is gonna be a Smile-Time/BuffytheCarton-esque arc in the comics (you said it existed bef the Buffy-movie spat).
I like how Spike turns into a woman in this. That makes for some hot Buffy-affair back-story :)
But that makes much more sense for a stand alone. I see why a strong female protagonist is important for a "movie" like this. (Funny how the estrogen & testosterone got so segregated in the buffyverse comics..But I actually think that would be a really really bad idea if the blond here's supposed to be a Buffyesque character insert vs. Spike with an X chromosome).
If real this could actually be badass if it was done right & intentionally far faar away from the original conceptualization. FAR faar away. Like the buffy tv show vs. original movie only with no linear canon arc or connection going on whatsoever. Different planes of existence. This one with a focus on theater sexiness and explosions?
Dont feel the same way about this new Buffy dealy though.. its possible to do right but its just way too soon & probably with way the wrong ppl behind it.

Are you nuts? Hollywood is infamous for sucking out all that's good and beautiful out of stories/legends/actors and leaving a rotting husk on the screen. A bad movie based on a story that was previously done well is not a novelty. The answer is: Bad enough to make your teeth hurt, your heart ache, and your eyes bleed.

Showers, I think the floaty thing is a logo -- a halo is my guess -- on reAngel's shirt. So we know who and what he is (not just a Hero -- a SUPER Hero! With a custom embroidery budget!). So the producers have some potential for licensing tie-ins. So we fans can spend and spend and spend to show how crazed we are to show how crazed we are. So Dollar stores around the nation will be well supplied in three to six months with piles of unsold and sadly dated ("I remember I was so excited about that movie when it was coming out!
